Display It! Create a Kid's Art Gallery in your Home.

Indeed, your child's art is so special, so beautiful, it deserves to be displayed in a gallery. With a few inexpensive tools and a little creativity, you can easily create a home gallery to display your child's art with style. Here are three creative ways to create mini galleries to display your children's artwork.

  1. Gallery of Hangers. Use wooden, children's sized pants hangers as unique "frames" for your child's art. Simply clip the hanger to the top of the art and then hang it on a wall hook. Organize multiple clipped pieces onto a single wall to create an imaginative gallery. These hangers are so simple to use that you can easily replace a piece of art with a different one as your child brings new projects home. For an even more vibrant display, paint the wooden hangers in bright colors!
  2. Clothesline Gallery. A practical and modern use for the traditional clothes line is to create a floating gallery of your child's art. Find a sturdy rope and affix it flush against a wall, or across a room from one wall to another. Make sure to allow it to sag in the middle for a dramatic effect. Use traditional clothespins or colorful binder clips to affix artwork to the clotheslines. Hang many art pieces close together, or few pieces spaced apart to create different looks. It is easy to swap out art pieces as you decide on different themes for your "gallery" or receive newly created artwork.
  3. Mismatched Frames Gallery. Just like the Louvre or the Met, frame your children's art in different styles and color frames. When displayed together on a single wall, what at first may seem like a hodge podge of frames turns out to be a striking gallery of art. Ideal sources for unusual frames include garage sales and resale stores. IKEA is also a good source for inexpensive frames in a variety of sizes, shapes and colors.
